Fearless (Acrylic on canvas 35”x25”x1.5”) by Herbert Chow
“Fearless” depicts a courageous sea eagle learning how to navigate through a giant surf.
The wave is outlined by white splashy foams at the crest and turbulent white water at the troughs. This may not be a giant wave by sight but it clearly posts a great challenge for the young eagle. This painting is inspirited by Louisa May Alcott’s famous quote, “I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship”. If I may borrow and modify the quote, it shall read “I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to navigate through it”. Learning how to properly and proportionately deal with adverse events in life can make the difference between a life that associates with miseries at the trough and an inspired life that rides on its crest.
