Born Free (Acrylic on Canvas 28" by 22")
by Herbert Chow
Wild horses are once-tame animals that are free-roaming in North American. For example, wild mustangs are the descendants of horses brought by Europeans more than 400 years ago. Wild horses generally travel in small groups led by a stallion. Young colts usually break away from the family at around 2 years old. In this painting, the spirited colt leading the pack seems confident and ready to take on adulthood. The late evening sky highlights the jagged peaks of Grand Teton in the background.
