On Golden Pond (Acrylic on Canvas 48" by 22")

The translucent lotus leaf over the shinny full moon and the delicate light reflection over the pond are the two focal points in this painting. I placed the lotus leaf in front on the yellow moon and painted over the leaf with dark-blue glaze. As expected, the yellow color was absorbed by the blue layer allowing the green to shine through the lotus leaf accentuating the outline of the moon. On this night with dense fog, the moon left subtle soft yellow reflection on the surface of water. The delicate yellow reflection lines were added using fluid acrylic pouring technique.
