Yellow hooded orioles are commonly found in the west coast. They like to forage in bushes and shrubs and feed on nectar. Here, the two orioles are playing in the rose bush and showing considerable interest to the budding yellow rose. The birds, young green shoots, red leaves, and rose bud take the center stage of this painting. The light reflections and rose bushes are drawn in layer to increase depth. The contrast of yellow and red bring warmth to a bright spring morning.
