Autumn At Dusk (Acrylic on Canvas 35"x25"x1.5")
by Herbert Chow

Autumn begins when leaves change colors and go from being green, to golden yellow, vibrant orange, and flamboyant crimson red. The maple tree in this painting displays gleaming pink, red and orange foliage. The hanging tree branches are placed diagonally above the steep mountain on the left and the vertical waterfall on the right to amplify the high altitude sensation. The dense fog provides the setting sun a great medium to paint the valley with brilliant yellow highlights. I texture the canvas on the left to mimic the rugged terrain and allow it to be visible through the shroud of dense fog.
